The Vineyard was established in two phases over 2001 and 2002 and employs a Vertical Shoot Position trellis system.  The vines are Chardonnay scions grafted on American root stock for resistance against phylloxera pest damage. While the Eastern Bay climate has its challenges for the viticulturist, the soil and site are well suited to growing Chardonnay grapes. The vineyard definitely falls into the 'boutique' category with less than a hectare planted, but this can yield up to 3000 litres of juice and meet the aim of supplying local establishments.  The grapes are hand picked and processed into juice on site before transporting to the wine maker.
